Certified Ontario Beef has been working to understand, formulate & implement sustainable Production Strategies. Our research has lead us to study many government agencies and their definitions and regulations.  

COB has the vision to assist the industry to be a world leader in leaving nature as it was meant to be while using her to produce beef for human consumption.

The Environment

  • In 2002, the Ontario government initiated what is known as the "On Farm Bio Program".
  • Protection of our environment and our province is a focus point of our production model.
  • Sustainable development is a big part of the strategic vision for COB & its future
  • In 2009, COB research many aspects of the Ontario and domestic Canadian beef industry.
  • In 2010, COB studied many International beef initiatives in Australia, Europe and USA. 
  • In 2011, COB developed industry changing technologies for implementation in North America.

These brands are based upon grade definitions;  and are NOT product production claims or source of origin claims; example :  Ontario Corn Fed beef. Production claims are not made with these brand, nor is the Angus brand claim a breed of origin claim, but a grandfathered Grade claim.
